Inspired by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, our curriculum focuses on the holistic development of each child, encompassing their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. Through structured activities and free play, we aim to foster independence, creativity, and a love for learning in every child.
At Edith Kerrison our classrooms are designed to provide a nurturing environment for young children to learn, blossom and grow. From the cozy “Snuggery” for 2-year-olds to the vibrant Blue, Red, and Green classrooms for 3-4 year-olds, each space is designed to support their developmental journey. All the rooms consists of a teacher and early years educators.
You can log into your child’s classroom and discover what they have been learning this term. (Feature coming soon)

We know children learn best when secure, confident and actively engaged. We believe that young children learn best when their education is driven by their interests and fascinations, and through play and exploration.
We focus on providing the right environment for children to learn and grow, ensuring that all children, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), are included and supported in our curriculum.
1 Teaching and learning based on children’s interests
2 Learning related to core books, songs and rhymes
3 Nature, connecting with seasons and natural world
4 Educational visits and visitors
5 Core experiences: dance and movement
Our staff cover all seven areas of learning outlined in the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage 2021. Development Matters and OPAL milestones inform us what children need to know to progress through the curriculum.
